4/20/2020 · Our Endorsement Process JP Progressives’ endorsement process involves a candidate questionnaire and forum, a community conversation to discuss our opinions as a group, and a recommendation from the JPP Steering Committee on which candidates to endorse.
JP Progressives will only issue endorsements for offices representing Jamaica Plain, including City, County, State, or National Elections or Ballot Initiatives. In the event of City, County, State, or National elections The Steering Committee of JP Progressives will determine which races the organization will choose to confer an endorsement to a candidate in the race, or may choose to withhold endorsement.
JP Progressives endorsement decisions will be made through a two-step process including a recommendation by the JP Progressives Steering Committee and a vote of the voting members of JP Progressives. Since JP Progressives is a Chapter Member of Progressive MASS, the Candidate Endorsement Criteria listed below are based on Progressive MASS with a few minor changes to.
10/8/2017 · After careful consideration and a thorough discussion about our values and the purpose of our organization, JP Progressives has decided to endorse Mayor Marty Walsh for a second term. The race between Mayor Walsh and Councilor Jackson has energized and divided our neighborhood and our city, and we thought long and hard about this endorsement between these two progressive candidates.

10/17/2017 · The JP Progressives have chosen to endorse Mayor Marty Walsh for a second term over District 7 City Councilor Tito Jackson. JP Progressives, a chapter member of Progressive MASS, provided a lengthy and thoughtful endorsement. In the Sept. 26th preliminary election Walsh took 62 percent of the vote and Jackson received 29 percent.
